Community Recreation

Oak Park Sports and Aquatic Centre

Following on from the development of a Master Plan for the Oak Park recreational facilities, Haskell Architects led the design and delivery of the Oak Park Sports and Aquatic Centre.

The project involved the demolition of the existing facilities, and the construction of a new aquatic centre and adjacent sports pavilion. The project delivered new outdoor pool facilities, new water play areas, new water slides, gymnasium, studio and multipurpose spaces, administration, café kiosk, dry and wet change areas, including separate facilities for school and carnivals, and a new sports pavilion with changerooms, kiosk, multipurpose space and viewing decks to service the existing sports ovals.

As part of Universal Design Principles, the project also included the design of a changing places accessible toilet to meet the needs of people with high support needs.
