Philosophy

Haskell Architects was established 10 years ago with the objective of designing high quality, practical and value for money community facilities that make a positive contribution to the people that use them.

We achieve meaningful, environmentally sensitive architecture through rigor and objectivity at all stages of the design process.

We truly believe that good design can bring about social change. It is our philosophy that valuable and welcoming public architecture creates a sense of identity for the communities that use them; it gives the people a sense of ownership over their built environment and makes for a happier, more cohesive and safer society.

Sustainability

At Haskell Architects, Environmentally Sustainable Design is founded on practical, common sense principles that integrate sustainable use of energy, water, site, occupant health and wellbeing, materials and waste management, and social impacts. By implementing sound design principles, achievement of ESD objectives should not necessarily add significant cost to a project.

We view ESD as simply a part of what we do; not a separate entity or a ‘bolting on’ of a specialist consultant ideas. We implement objectives and strategies to ensure our staff are at the leading edge of ESD practice, legislation and innovation.

Delivery

As a medium sized practice, we offer the assurance of active engagement of the practice director and the flexibility to tailor projects to clients’ particular needs.

We are focused on delivering outstanding projects within challenging economic, environmental, social and functional constraints.
