The Gardens
The Gardens Beach Shack is situated on a remote part of the coastline in north-east Tasmania. Haskell Architects designed the beach house to be simple, honest and down-to-earth, lending from the notion of a shipping container. From the beach, the house appears to leap off the edge of the hill, helping to make the most of the beautiful coastal views. The mix of zincalume and cedar weatherboards as external cladding materials were chosen for their hardiness and their ability to change gracefully with age.
